Deputy Prime Minister to travel to Indonesia
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, the Hon Richard Marles MP, will travel to Indonesia this week to further practical cooperation in the Australia-Indonesia defence partnership.
Indonesia is one of our closest neighbours, central to Australia’s security and prosperity. During his visit, the Deputy Prime Minister will meet Indonesian Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto.
The Deputy Prime Minister will also meet with counterparts from the region who will be in Jakarta following the 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting–Plus (ADMM–Plus), where Australia was represented by Minister for Defence Industry and Minister for International Development and the Pacific, the Hon Pat Conroy MP.
Australia is committed to working with our regional partners in support of a peaceful, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, with ASEAN at its centre.
