Ms Davies said the Youth Parliament program is a unique opportunity for young people to have their voice heard by policy makers, hone their debate skills and create the change they want to see.
“Regardless of who you are and what you are believe in, if you’re passionate about local issues and representing your community, “she said.
“Programs such as Youth Parliament empower young people to be involved in our democracy as they progress through their studies and career.”
“It is an opportunity to advocate for their local communities, speak on important issues and get a better understanding of the Parliamentary process.”
Throughout the week-long program, delegates will sit in the Legislative Assembly Chamber, joined by Members of Parliament who will take on the role of Speaker.
Participants also have the opportunity to meet State Members of Parliament throughout the program to develop their own political networks.
