Nationals WA Leader backs the power of the people at State Conference
Leader of The Nationals WA Shane Love has welcomed Party members to the 2023 Annual State Conference in the Swan Valley, thanking supporters for coming together to take a stand against WA Labor’s attacks on the regions.
Mr Love’s address outlined The Nationals’ bold vision for the future of regional Western Australia, saying the party would put regional communities at the heart of their 2025 Election platform.
“The Nationals know our communities will not survive another term of Labor’s gutless attacks,” he said.
“The very fabric of our Western Australian life is under siege every single day due to Labor’s overreach and overregulation.
“WA Labor threatens the industries which are the backbone of our State – putting our economic and societal strengths at risk by implementing policy on the run while drunk on power.
“From a demersal fishing ban imposed without industry consultation to pulling the rug out from under our State’s native forestry industry, WA Labor has shown time and time again they do not care about our regions.
“While our naïve Premier aggrandizes himself to Canberra with his back to our State, cost of living is through the roof, our health system in crisis and the housing and construction pipeline is in disarray.
Mr Love said WA deserves a Government focussed on addressing real issues– instead, the Premier and his chaotic cabinet dismantle our communities blow by blow.
“WA Labor are attempting to claim they are a ‘listening government’, after months of having their heads buried in the sand refusing to take community concerns seriously,” he said.
“The Nationals are not just a political force, we understand the needs and aspirations of our communities and our mission is steered by this deep connection.
“It is we who stand strong as the sole party with a genuine, positive vision for the people of Regional WA and indeed the whole State.
“Our strength lies in our unity and while others might attempt to sow discord, The Nationals WA will present a clear vision of what the future holds for regional WA.
“Together, we can create history in 2025 – it is only through a National Party in Government that we can bring regional WA back into the heart of decision-making in our state.”
“We have been fighting for regional WA for more than 100 years – we’re not going anywhere.”
