The United Nations has been asked by PECA to urgently investigate pay equity changes brought in by the Government as thousands of women have their pay claims cancelled. Secondary teachers will walk off the job next Wednesday following a one percent pay rise offer during collective bargaining, which the PPTA says is the lowest in a generation. A new report has slammed the state of the country’s hospital radiology services saying inadequate staff numbers and a lack of investment is ‘unravelling’ the sector. An NZNO report shows that Aotearoa needs five times more Māori nurses to reflect the Māori population and deliver culturally safe health care.
