
Tupu Ola Moui – Pacific Health Chart Book 2025
The Ministry of Health in partnership with the Ministry for Pacific Peoples has published Volumes 1 and 2 of the Tupu Ola Moui: Pacific Health Chart Book series (2025), a comprehensive and data-driven report providing an in-depth look at the health of Pacific peoples in New Zealand. This publication is the third edition, following publications in 2004 and 2012, and serves as a tool for understanding the health needs and challenges faced by Pacific communities.
Tupu Ola Moui is designed to support the Government’s ongoing commitment to improving Pacific health outcomes, aligning with Te Mana Ola: The Pacific Health Strategy, and the Government Policy Statement (GPS) on Health.
Developed in collaboration with Health NZ and community partners, this publication aims to provide a Pacific-led approach to health monitoring. It will support the Ministry of Health to track progress and measure improvements in Pacific health outcomes over time.

The Ministry of Health is committed to using the findings of Tupu Ola Moui to set a revised baseline to support focused monitoring of health system performance for Pacific peoples, including addressing long-standing issues with Pacific health data quality, interpretation, and analysis. Having accurate, up-to-date, and consistent data is important to support strategies and policies that adequately address and reflect the health and wellbeing aspirations of Pacific peoples.
