Today is International Working Women’s Day, a day born out of radical class struggle and the organised labour movement. In celebrating IWD today, we recognise and remember the history of
March 8, and recommit to joining together to fight for all women, across the globe. Our feminism is grounded in solidarity and the collective fight for the liberation and equality of all people.More than 25,000 Palestinian women and children have been killed since October 2023. Right now, women in Gaza are forced to have caesareans performed without anaesthesia, and children are dying having known nothing but war and violence. All women, everywhere, must stand together in solidarity and fight for peace and justice in Gaza. Just as we must stand together with First Nations women in the fight against a colonial Australia, disabled women in the fight against an inherently ableist system, trans women in the fight against a heteronormative patriarchy, and working women in the ongoing fight for class liberation.
From Gadigal to Gaza, one struggle one fight, women of the world unite.
