Coode Island 20 Year Anniversary
Twenty years ago government and industry thought it was alright not to fix the problems at Coode Island and expose the community and CBD to incredibly toxic smoke.
An inquiry stated that there needed to be a buffer zone or the storage facility should be moved. Neither of these things have happened.
Victorian Greens MLC Colleen Hartland visited the site of Coode Island for the 20 year anniversary and talked to Peter Marshall, National Secretary of the United Firefighters Union.
