Then you’ll know that renting isn’t always easy.
Renters have to deal with big rent hikes, poor quality houses that are freezing in winter and sweltering in summer, and problems dealing with agents and landlords.
That’s why the Greens are launching our plan to make renting fair.
It’s a plan to strengthen rights for renters and make sure renters have secure, sustainable and liveable homes.
To make sure this happens, we’ll:
✅ End out-of-control rent rises
✅ Establish a Housing Ombudsman
✅ Introduce new rental standards for energy efficiency and cooling
✅ Enable longer, more secure leases
✅ Protect renters’ privacy
People who rent should be given a fair go.
And with more Greens in Parliament, we’ll make sure of it.
