Her eviction from her home of over 25 years is part of Vic Labor’s plan to ‘relocate’ residents from Barak Beacon and other public housing estates so that they can privatise the site, helping property developers make mega profits. Margaret challenged the Labor Government who took her to VCAT to try and force her out of her home. And this week, VCAT ruled against her. But this fight is too important for us to give up because the future of public housing in Victoria is at stake.
