In Victoria, rents are rising four times faster than wages 📈
This is putting many renters in severe housing stress.
As cost of living pressures also rise, rent increases of $50-$100 a week are not sustainable. And they’re not fair.
That’s why we need to end out-of-control rent rises.
We can do that with a cap on rents, which will keep rent rises in line with wage growth.
Because everyone should have an affordable roof over their heads. Period.
Today in the Victorian Parliament we’ll be putting forward a plan to cap rents, to make renting fair and affordable.
