It takes a village to raise a child – Nina Springle
The Greens will invest more than $100 million in community childcare to reduce waiting lists and bring down costs to parents. We’ll also scale up bush kinder across the state with a boost of $10 million.
Victoria’s community childcare provides the building blocks for kids to thrive in life, but it’s under extreme pressure. Huge waiting lists are pushing families into private childcare or requiring them to travel further to access community care.
Labor and Liberal have allowed early childhood services to become overly privatised. Profits are being pocketed by big business and shareholders when they should be reinvested in our children and communities.
The Greens’ plan will put communities back at the heart of early learning, reduce costs to families, and give more young children the opportunity to learn in nature.
