Privatisation of Victoria’s Land Titles Office [Samantha Ratnam 8/8/18]

A parliamentary inquiry finds no evidence for why Victoria should privatise the Land Titles Office. This valuable land data should be protected in the public’s interest, and that has not been guaranteed. Data security issues were at the forefront of the inquiry, and we looked at questions about information privacy and integrity. This privatisation should be legislated and not just regulated. That would protect Victorians in a much stronger way.
