Save TAFE in the West

Colleen Hartland is the Greens MP for the Western Suburbs.
In the West, Victoria University estimates a $32 million hit to funding as a result of the Napthine Government cuts. Jobs will be cut, programs reduced and entire courses cut. There will also be knock-on effects for the whole of Victoria University, students, staff and the community.
Victoria University is the biggest provider of education in the Western Suburbs, so these cuts mean it will be an uphill battle for people in the West to get an education.
Around 50% of Victoria University’s TAFE students are on low incomes, so changes to funding will especially affect them. Some students may not be able to continue their studies and gain a qualification.
Don’t let our public TAFE system be lost.
Tell Premier Napthine to reverse the funding cuts and support a quality public TAFE system.
