When the Maribrynong river overflowed and homes around the Flemington Racecourse were flooded, the racecourse itself — which banks millions for the gambling industry — was protected by a wall.

A wall that may have made flooding in homes and local businesses worse.

15 years ago the Vic Labor Govt approved a flood wall to protect the profits of the racing and gambling industry — at the expense of the community.

Now look what happened.
