Content warning: this post discusses family violence.
When I first started out as a volunteer, I’d just been through a family violence incident.
Like so many women who’ve been in that same situation… I wasn’t always believed.
Thankfully, my son and I were referred to the Orange Door where we were listened to, and able to get help to rebuild our lives.
Sometimes, when I’m out making phone calls or knocking on doors, I share my story.
Because by sharing my story, I’ve found my voice – and now I want to help others find theirs.
It’s also the reason I’m working as a Regional Field Director at this election.
There is just so much at risk.
But the scariest part for me, is what it could mean for women.
Services like the Orange Door – they only get the real support they need under a Labor Government.
And all the progress women have won – it’ll only be protected if we stand up and fight for it.
It’s why I’m asking, will you use your voice to help others find theirs?
Please, sign up to knock doors and make calls.
And help us continue making our state safer, fairer and more equal for women and girls.
