Housing shortage reaches flashpoint in Ovens Valley

Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy is disappointed to hear that the Victorian Government is again choosing to be short sighted when it comes to ensuring our regional residents have a roof over their head as many residents are forced to leave their rental accommodation.

In Parliament Mr McCurdy said, “The housing shortage in the Ovens Valley electorate is at a flash point.

“I continue to be contacted by local constituents across the Ovens Valley electorate who have been notified to leave their rental property with nowhere to go.”

He continued, “This is the livelihood of countless of families across regional Victoria.

“It’s time the Victorian Government shift its focus from just Metropolitan Melbourne and it’s big build and consider what this housing shortage is effectively doing to our regional residents.”
