Labor adds another $560 million to the credit card
It is telling that on the same day the Liberals and Nationals announced a plan to cap and rein in Labor’s spiralling debt, Daniel Andrews has today added another $560 million of spending on the Victorian taxpayers’ credit card – without saying how he will fund it.
Today’s announcement by Mr Andrews means that Labor has so far committed $2.86 billion to health infrastructure without any offsetting savings or reprioritisations.
Daniel Andrews continues to refuse to say how he will pay for these promises or come clean on what new taxes he has planned.
In contrast, we have committed $4.597 billion to 16 new builds or hospital redevelopments – which is less than half of the over $11 billion Labor has so far set aside for the Cheltenham to Box Hill rail line, which we will re-prioritise into health.
Only the Liberals and Nationals can fix the health crisis without raising taxes.
