Labor campaign confusion – The Nationals Victoria

Labor’s election campaign doesn’t seem to know whether it’s Martha or Arthur.

Yesterday, the Treasurer’s office dropped a major yarn to the Australian Financial Review – that Labor would, in partnership with the Federal Government, increase its inflationary Homebuyer Fund (“DanShare”).

Bizarrely, the story was not followed up by the Government, with the Premier not mentioning it at his schools’ media event.

Today, with the co-ordinated release of Federal Labor’s “1 million houses” policy ahead of the budget, it’s clear that someone in the Victorian Treasurer’s office dropped their media release to the AFR a day too early.

Oops.

On top of that, last night Channel 9 News featured what was clearly a “drop” from Transport Minister and Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan about all the good things she is doing in her portfolio.

The only problem – someone clearly forgot to tell Labor’s campaign team and the story ran all over the Premier’s schools announcement, which ended up on the cutting room floor at Channel 9.

With friends like Ms Allan, who needs enemies.
