1 in 3 big corporations don’t pay tax in Australia

“..many companies DO pay tax..”

I asked the PM in Parliament this week why a nurse pays more tax than a multinational corporation.

And if he’d make the big corporations pay their fair share so he can get dental into Medicare.

I’ve linked his full response above so you can watch for yourself.

I’m not surprised the PM avoided acknowledging that 1200 big corporations paid no tax in the 2022-2023 financial year.

Chevron. AGL. Glencore. Inpex. Santos. Peabody. Dominos. Deutsche Bank. Minerals Resources. NewsCorp.

I’m not surprised many of these corporations are Labor Party donors.

I’m not surprised that Santos paid $0 in tax, but managed to find $88,000 to donate to the ALP the same year.

But I am surprised the PM thinks it’s fair.

Every cent that a big corporation doesn’t pay in tax, the community loses.

It’s money that could go to healthcare, to housing, or education.

People are fed-up. They want a Government that makes the big corporations pay their fair share.

We’re not going to stop fighting for one.
