Adam Bandt asks ‘Minister for the Environment’ about Direct Action handouts to biggest polluters
Under the clean energy laws, it used to be the case that polluters would pay some of the costs of their pollution, with much of the money going to households. But now under Direct Action, won’t Australia’s biggest polluters have a choice to either get a handout paid for by households, or to ignore the scheme altogether, as there will be no legal obligation to cut their pollution?
