Flood clean-up in Brisbane
These are just some of the people on Brisbane’s southside that are cleaning up after the floods from a bit over a week ago.
Unfortunately, the LNP Brisbane City Council are refusing to offer kerbside pickups despite a number of streets being badly flooded.
We’ve had requests from dozens of households in Griffith and went public with this to see if they could force the Council to reverse this decision – but unfortunately they’re not listening.
The good news is that Max Chandler-Mather MP, Cr Trina Massey and our amazing Greens volunteers have been out with utes and trailers helping people to get it done.
They’ve just filled up another huge skip worth of flooded items on Sunday and will be continuing on with flood relief this week.
