How many lives have to be destroyed before Labor will act on housing crisis? – Max Chandler-Mather
It’s time Labor took a good look at the people they’re hurting by not acting on the housing crisis.
People from all walks of life are now facing homelessness due to soaring rents, many of them for the first time in their lives.
If Labor cared about these people, they could put a stop to the housing crisis by freezing rent increases, winding back the tax handouts to property investors and putting that money toward a public developer to build, sell and rent homes at prices people can actually afford.
Instead they’re tinkering on the edges of this crisis and leaving millions of people one more rent increase away from homelessness.
