Larissa Waters calls out the lack of detail on genuine electoral reform in the final JSCEM report
The JSCEM process has provided a partial pathway to developing legislative reforms that could genuinely improve our democracy before the next election. The Greens support the recommendations in the final report but there is still a huge amount of detail that is missing from what the government plans to do on electoral reform.
Where’s the truth in advertising, the transparency, the integrity?
The Greens want to see genuine reforms, not rorts that lock in the two party system.
Our question to the the Government now is; do you want to do a stitch up with the Liberal Party? Or will you talk with the Greens and the crossbench to pursue electoral reforms that actually improve democratic outcomes?
