Larissa Waters: we’re calling out sexism this election
Whether it was Campbell Newman himself, whether it was George Christensen’s facebook posting of the Opposition Leader with no clothes on, with Christine Milne depicted in the background, whether it was a former LNP candidate saying she ‘didn’t serve enough tea and bickies to get preselected,’ we are seeing more insights into what the LNP thinks about women.
I’ve got news for them, Queenslanders know women deserve their place in public life and they want to see a more equal Parliament.
I’m thrilled that we are the party that is running the most female candidates of any of the other parties. I would love to have more competition there, but we are leading the way and calling out sexism because that is how we make cultural change and let the blue ties of the LNP know they are out of touch with the majority of the Queenslanders.
