No more excuses on Ebola: Di Natale
Senator Di Natale today called on the Prime Minister and Health Minister to immeidately send Australian health workers to Europe for necessary training and then deploy them in West Africa, following revelations in Senate Estimates this morning.
The Chief Medical Officer admitted to Richard Di Natale during Senate Estimates that the Government has not provided our health professionals with the necessary training for deployment overseas.
He also told the Senate that the UK has decided no longer evacuate any infected health workers because it would be better to treat them in the field. This revelation removes any excuse for Australia not doing its bit by deploying its AUSMAT team.
