Raising the voices of young Queenslanders in parliament
Too often we ignore or dismiss the voices of young people, but I have a sneaking suspicion that we’d be a lot better off if we paid more attention.
So I was happy yesterday to read two fantastic speeches from young Queenslanders in the Senate yesterday, as part of Raise Our Voice Australia. The first was by 15-year-old Sadia Shareef, who says the government must do more to eliminate racism. The second was from Will Vanman, 16, who says the government is letting young people down on climate action.
They’re not wrong. Have a listen.
