Reflections on West Africa
We have now seen over 22,5000 cases of Ebola and we have seen 9,000 people who have died. But that headline figure doesn’t do justice to the profound and far reaching impact of this disease.
During an adjournment speech, Richard reflected on the mixed feelings experienced on his recent travels to West Africa, which ranged from deep sadness at the 10,000 orphans who have lost their parents to Ebola, to uplifting moments such as the courage of the West African people at the frontline of the response efforts.
