Senator Waters speaks in debate on the Greens Water Trigger Bill
Senate has started debate on the Greens Water Trigger Bill which would protect water from fracking in the Beetaloo basin. The law would mean projects undergo the same environmental water assessments as other gas projects, protect the climate, and heed calls from scientists and Traditional Owners.
The Greens are pushing for the Bill to be passed before Parliament rises this year, in line with Labor’s commitment to do so.
