Tarkine, Too Precious To Lose
The Tarkine is home to over sixty rare and threatened species and Australia’s largest intact cool temperate rainforest. The Australian Heritage Council have found it to be of outstanding natural and cultural heritage value, and deserving of protection. Despite this the federal and Tasmanian state governments are allowing plans for nine new mines and numerous mining exploration licences to go ahead.
Venture Minerals have called the Tarkine, and Meredith range area a ‘province of tin’, we call it the Tarkine, Too Precious to Lose.
