New Allergy Advice Platform Bridges Rural Care Gap

Wednesday 23 April

370 perioperative nurses working at Auckland City Hospital, Starship Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre will strike for two hours on 1 May – the same day senior doctors are striking. This is part of nationwide events to mark May Day on 1 May, including rallies outside public hospitals, organised by health unions. Health NZ says it is “very concerned” about the impact on patient care, while Patient Voice Aotearoa chairperson Malcolm Mulholland said most New Zealanders will support next month’s healthcare strikes, because they know the system is “in crisis”. The TEU says lower North Island polytechnic Ucol has proposed cutting up to 74 jobs, while MUNZ are concerned by the potential loss of 62 jobs in Tauranga.
