Greens want Labor’s gas tax doubled

Adam Bandt

Labor now has a clear choice — if they want their resources tax passed, they can either work with the Greens and crossbench to double the revenue from PRRT changes, or work with Dutton to weaken environmental regulations for gas projects.

This should be an absolute no brainer.

And for the millions of Australians who voted for climate action, they’d expect Labor to work with the us, not of the climate-wrecking Coalition they kicked out.

Gas corporations can afford to pay a little bit of tax while the rest of the country struggles through a cost-of-living crisis (that the same gas corporations are profiteering from).
