“Like the tobacco and asbestos industries, fossil fuel corporations have known full well for decades that their product is deadly. ExxonMobil’s own in-house scientists have been aware of the dangers of global heating since the 1970s.
This bill is about justice. It’s about protecting those whose livelihood depends on fertile soils, reliable water flows and a healthy Great Barrier Reef. It’s about making sure that big corporations can’t profit from destroying people’s lives.
I urge all MPs to hold these billion-dollar corporations to account and back this bill.” – Adam Bandt
