On Friday we assessed the impacts of flooding in the Gulf communities of Normanton and Doomadgee, taking with us some essential grocery supplies.

STATE AND FEDERAL EMERGENCY MINISTERS NOW NEED TO ROLL UP THEIR SLEEVES AND VISIT.

These isolated communities have been operating on limited supply of goods for months, and Robbie Katter MP and I are calling on for greater support from both our State and Federal Governments – disaster funding, emergency services, grocery subsidies, as well as long-term investments that improve basic services in these communities when they’re cut off such as healthcare.

It has been devastating to see the livestock losses in the region, especially in Burketown where residents have been requested to evacuate.
