Today to mark one year to the Territory election, the Country Liberal Party held a campaign rally in Lee Point.

CLP Vice President Steve Doherty opened the rally to a room of more than 70 volunteers, and announced the ochre army was assembling.

“Territorians are angry as they have been let down, we all have an important job to do.”

“As part of the event, the Country Liberal Party has opened preselection for all seats for the upcoming election, we encourage everyone who wants to rid the Territory of the worst Government in our 45 year history to put their hand up!” he said.

CLP Parliamentary Leader Lia Finocchiaro addressed the cheering room and used her speech to rally the crowd together and remind them of the importance of the challenge ahead.

“Together we have the most important task upon us, to save the Territory from Labor.

“And the challenge before us will not be easy, Labor will promise the world, they will throw every resource at us, they will open the union war chest and do whatever it takes to cling on to Government.

“But I am ready. You are ready. We are ready. The Territory is ready for change.

“I stand before you today knowing that the Territory’s best days are ahead of us.” Mrs Finocchiaro said.

At the conclusion of the rally the ochre army of volunteers headed out to the Labor held Northern suburbs to kick off a campaign blitz, talking to people about the CLP’s plan for a Safe and Strong Territory.
