I was very lucky to see Peter Weeks from UGFM – Radio Murrindindi on Friday in person!
I speak with Peter every second Thursday morning on his program about the latest issues in politics and what I have been up to in Canberra – but it’s mostly on the phone, so we aren’t sitting in the same room that often.
When I was in Alex I recorded my sponsorship message for UGFM. Community radio stations are vital across Indi, providing local news and discussion, following our arts and culture and sport teams, and keeping us company.
They also keep us informed in emergencies, with local knowledge that saves lives. In 2009 UGFM was awarded the Tony Staley Excellence in Community Broadcasting Award for their work in the Black Saturday fires.
