When I was in Alexandra I dropped into Kellock Lodge and spoke to residents during afternoon tea. Kellock Lodge provides quality residential aged care to Murrindindi locals, and I am always impressed by the respect and care between residents and staff who are all members of this close-knit community.
In my meeting with Board members and senior staff, we discussed how to prevent burnout among the hardworking nurses, attendants and other staff, address accommodation shortages, and look at opportunities for overseas skilled workers.
It has been a difficult few years for aged care providers and I take every opportunity to hear what I can do as the MP to support our rural and regional services.
And the lemon slice is simply delicious! Thank you for having me Kellock Lodge.
