Michael Sukkar, Liberal for Deakin
Michael, has lived, worked and been a part of the Deakin electorate all of his life. He grew up in Ringwood and attended secondary school at Aquinas College. After high school Michael went on to complete a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin University in Burwood, and later furthered his studies by completing a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne.
Michael went on to become a lawyer and is currently a Senior Associate with the law firm, Ashurst Australia. In this role, he has advised many of Australia’s most successful individuals and largest corporate groups.
Michael regularly speaks to school students and parents on a variety of topics, including: practical ways to achieve academic excellence, minimising the threats of drugs and alcohol and issues to consider with social media. For a number of years Michael was also heavily involved in many aspects of St Johns Basketball Club in Mitcham, where he played and coached junior teams.
With the support of his wife Anna, Michael believes that he has the skills, experience and dedication to win the trust of the people of Deakin at the upcoming federal election.
