It’s a devastating assessment of the state of Australia’s environment. It shows massive environmental wreckage fuelled by years of denial and neglect from governments. Climate change, habitat loss, invasive species, pollution and resource extraction are devastating our ecosystems. We need urgent action.
But there is still hope. This new Parliament is our chance to turn it around. Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek faces a real test – halt extinction and start to address the impact of the climate crisis on our wildlife and natural environment or continue the neglect.
