A big thankyou to Shannon Fentiman MP and Nita Green – Senator for Queensland for making time during their busy Parliamentary schedules to speak to our members last night!
Shannon, Nita and State Secretary Kate Flanders recapped the important progress Labor members have achieved on women’s issues, like abortion decriminalisation – reflecting on the powerful work of Labor for Choice and their succesful campaign.
It’s more important than ever that we stay organised to protect the gains we’ve made from the LNP who are determined to take us backwards.
Shannon and Nita also briefed members on the vital ongoing work at both levels of government to ensure every woman is safe and treated with fairness and respect.
That work has taken another major step forward today, with the Albanese Labor Government introducing legislation for 10 days paid domestic and family violence leave.
