UPDATE: I’ve received a briefing from the Minister for Emergency Management’s office – they are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to assist. The State Minister’s office have also been in touch to dispel the myth that some homes will be sacrificed intentionally. Currently the dam is being reinforced and should the dam wall break, the plan is for water to be directed away from homes as best as possible.
