Virtually every study is showing that this new pattern of work – where employees receive 100% of the pay for 80% of the hours – is better for everyone.
Workers are less burnt out, it improves gender equality in the home, and employers retain similar or even improved levels of productivity.
The Greens are pushing Labor to take up the recommendation of the Senate work and care inquiry for a national trial of the 4-day work week.
