Janet Rice: Let’s vote down the plebiscite and hold a free vote
This plebiscite was thought up by Tony Abbott as a mechanism to delay marriage equality, and as a too clever by half way of papering over the deep divisions in the Liberal party on this issue. Well it hasn’t worked. It’s about to get voted down, and then we can move on.
