Stop the Rorts
Airport Rorts, Sports Rorts, Regional Rorts and Safer Communities Rorts. Now it’s the Commuter Car Park scandal.
The $660 million commuter car park program was designed to build parking at suburban train stations to encourage people to get out of their cars and into trains.
But in the lead up to the 2019 election, Scott Morrison’s government overruled public service experts to pick the projects.
Scott Morrison himself personally signed off on 27 commuter car park projects on the last day possible before the election.
But now the Government is hiding documents under cabinet secrecy laws. They’re trying to lock key pieces of evidence away until 2039.
This latest scandal comes after countless other rorts and scandals. We need a powerful, independent and transparent National Anti-Corruption Commission, and that’s what an Albanese Labor Government would deliver.
