The first female Labor minister and first female Minister for Women, trailblazer Susan Ryan was the architect of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984. Ryan later reflected that the world-first legislation that made workplace sexual harassment unlawful was “probably the most useful thing I’ve done in my life”.
