Kristy McBain’s electorate of Eden-Monaro borders Indi on our far north-eastern edges, where the Upper Murray forms the border between Victoria and NSW.
It’s one of many reasons why it was great to catch up with Kristy this week, especially in her new capacity as Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories.
As a fellow regional MP and as a former mayor, Kristy has great experience for the role and we spoke about many issues our regions share – struggle with housing, infrastructure needs and regional development needs.
I’m looking forward to continuing these conversations and facilitating meetings between the minister and some of our local councils to make sure the needs of Indi are heard by the Government.
