In the 2019 election campaign, the then Government committed to funding a Country University Centre in Indi.

These centres give regional people who are studying university degrees somewhere to work from that has high-speed internet, learning support, and a community of other local students. It’s critical to making it easier for regional people to access higher education.

I worked closely with the former Government to make sure they delivered on this commitment to Indi. And last week, I was so pleased to visit the newly-opened Country University Centre in Corryong, one of three in Indi delivered with this funding (along with Wangaratta and Mansfield).

Students at the Corryong centre are enrolled in universities right across Australia, and have already built a fantastic little community here.

Thanks so much to Celeste, Mark, Drew, Sophie and Jess for showing me around and good luck to all students of the Upper Murray who use this great centre.
