My recent visit to Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare has left me ...

Helen Haines MP

My recent visit to Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare has left me both concerned and immensely proud.

Concerned that as cost of living pressures rise, more people from all walks of life are requiring food aid but proud at the incredible job Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare is doing to meet the need as best they can.

The Foodshare team works collaboratively with other local community organisations to maximise the amount of nutritional, good quality, food to give to local people in need.

The staff, and committed team of incredible volunteers, work tirelessly in both the warehouse and the Foodshare Shop to provide assistance to those who most need it in our community.

I met with Volunteer Coordinator, Sue Thornton, and Chair, Simon Welsh, for a tour of the warehouse and to hear of the increased business going through the Foodshare Shop.

I was also excited to hear of their future plans to create a Food Unity Hub on the grounds of Wodonga TAFE.

This impressive collaboration will connect people in need with quality food, essential support services, and provide multiple linkages to education programs.

Very well done Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare and Wodonga TAFE for providing such a community service!
