Today we unveiled the statues of two remarkable women – Dame Dorothy Tangney and Dame Enid Lyons. The first women to be elected to the Australian Parliament.
It is important we recognise the women who have shaped Australia’s history and laid the foundations for future generations of women to serve from all backgrounds and experiences.
We know that there is more to be done to overcome the challenges women face both here and abroad. But we are inspired by the many milestones achieved by and for women in our party’s history.
I am proud to work with a team who contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of our nation.
