Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has just introduced an illegal Migration Bill to the UK Parliament.
And he did do so while sighting Australia’s cruel immigration policy as an example – even borrowing the cynical and infamous catchphrase “Stop the Boats”.
This is on the same day that Labor & the Liberals voted to continue offshore detention and abandon the 150+ men still on Nauru & in PNG.
There is no reason Australia can’t be a world-leader in compassion, like communities around the country want us to be.
Instead, our Government continues to set an example for those want to stoke fear, division and hate, using the most vulnerable people on the planet as political footballs.
Shame.
