This is a great step to reduce our plastic pollution and something the Greens fought hard for.
Many non-plastic alternatives to these items are already in use. Those who need plastic drinking straws for a medical reason will still be able to access them.
The Greens will keep pushing to reduce plastic waste in our state to protect our birds, waterways and marine life.
